The United States should stop supporting the Georgia government for its decision to pass a law on transparent financing of foreign agents, US Senate member Jim Risch said on the social network X on May 28.
“While the United States will continue to support the Georgian people, their government should no longer receive US support.”he wrote.
According to Risch, the Georgian government has demonstrated a strong determination to distance itself from the formation of a free and democratic society.
Recall that on May 28, the Georgian parliament overcame the president’s veto of the bill on foreign agents. The White House press secretary said Washington was disappointed with this decision. At the same time, the law on foreign agents has existed in the United States for more than 80 years, which Georgia took as the basis for developing its bill.
