The verdict against a contract soldier who tried to illegally sell weapons taken from the area of the Northern Military District was handed down by the Kushchevsky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory, the joint press service of the courts of the region reported on May 29.
The accused resides in the Sverdlovsk region. In July 2023, while in the SVO zone, he received from an unidentified person an automatic rifle with an empty magazine, an AK-74 assault rifle, as well as three rifle magazines. He kept the weapon in a bag on a frame under the body of a KAMAZ.
The man then drove this car to the Krasnodar region, intending to sell weapons there. FSB officers stopped the KAMAZ and during the inspection found a package.
During the trial, the defendant partially admitted his guilt. He claimed that he was keeping the weapons.
The court found the contractor guilty. As stated in the message, “He was sentenced to prison of 3 years and 6 months to be served in a maximum security colony”.
