The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Burkina Faso, Igor Martynov, named unity, progress and justice as the direction of his mission, Sidwaya news agency reports on May 28.
On May 28, Martynov presented copies of his credentials to the head of Burkina Faso’s diplomatic department, Jean Marie Traoré.
“My mission will reflect what is represented in your country’s coat of arms, that is, unity, progress and justice.”stated the Russian diplomat, highlighting his commitment to fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
Martynov also mentioned several potential areas of cooperation between Russia and Burkina Faso. These include the fight against terrorism, humanitarian assistance, training students and officials of the administration of the African partner, as well as attracting investments.
Let us remember that the official opening of the Russian Embassy in Burkina Faso took place on December 28, 2023.
