The National Association for Continuing Care (ANCC) deplored this Wednesday the lack of measures for this sector in the Emergency Health Plan, wondering how the release of unnecessarily occupied hospital beds will be implemented.
“The National Association for Continuing Care therefore deeply regrets that there is not a single indicator or word regarding continuing care in the long-awaited emergency care plan,” the ANCC responded in a statement.
This is despite the fact that the plan involves “freeing up over-occupied hospital beds”, meaning the government has identified 2,164 cases, of which 44% are awaiting a place in the National Continuing Care Network.”
The association accuses the executive of continuing with previous policies and the position that continuing care “is irrelevant to solving the problems of the health sector when they are so fundamental”, stressing that “the government does not explain how it will solve these problems.” unjustified hospitalizations.”
The ANCC also criticizes the mention of appreciation for health workers as it understands it excludes those who work in the private and social sector and that “the government despises and discriminates against those who work in the public sector by not paying enough for them to have a salary , equal to government employees,” who earn 60–80% more than social sector and long-term care workers.
“Some attribute this phrase to Esa de Queiroz (others to Mark Twain): “Politicians and diapers should be changed often for the same reason.” to the way they treat our sector,” criticized the ANCC.
The health emergency plan is divided into five priority strategic areas.
Regulating access to care by ensuring patients are cared for within clinically recommended time frames is one pillar of the plan, which also aims to create a safe environment for childbirth, strengthen emergency services, address problems with access to primary health care and guarantee access. to services capable of providing mental health care.
For each area, the plan provides for urgent measures that must be implemented immediately in order to obtain results within a period of up to three months; priority planned to achieve results by the end of the year; and structuring with medium-term planning and application.
