The price of a barrel of WTI oil for delivery in July during trading on the NYMEX exchange was $79.2 per barrel, 0.1% less than the closing level of the previous day. West Texas oil futures fell for the second day in a row after hitting their May high.
The price of Brent oil futures with a closing date in August on the ICE London Exchange is $83.3 per barrel, 0.1% less than the closing level of the previous day.
The stabilization of oil prices comes against the backdrop of the release of data from the American Petroleum Institute (API), which showed a decline in reserves at US oil storage facilities over the past week. Meanwhile, stock speculators fear further tightening of monetary policy by the US Federal Reserve.
