Two ferries at the Kerch crossing were damaged by fallen missile fragments, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Crimea, Nikolai Lukashenko, reported on his Telegram channel on May 30.
“In repelling an enemy attack on the transport infrastructure of the city of Kerch, two ferries, a road and a railway were damaged by the remains of the fallen missiles.”wrote Lukashenko.
The minister added that because of the shrapnel, the windows of the ferries’ superstructures were broken.
Additionally, he said that no sailors or civilians were injured as a result of the attack.
“After assessing the damage, ferry service will resume.”– said Lukashenko.
In the morning, the Ministry of Defense reported that in the evening the air defense forces shot down eight missiles over the Sea of Azov and eight unmanned aerial vehicles over the Black Sea.
Let us remember that the Kerch crossing is used for trucks, since after the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge the passage of vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons was prohibited. Ferries also transport passenger buses.
