The management of the channel did not receive notification from the Armenian authorities about the possible suspension of broadcasting in Armenia of the First Russian Channel, contrary to the current agreement, Sputnik Armenia reports on May 30, referring to the response of the press service of the company.
“It should be noted that our company closely monitors the fulfillment of its obligations to avoid violations of the current contract. “After contacting the Armenian side, today they confirmed that all payments have been received and we are waiting for the resumption of Channel One broadcasting at the Yerevan multiplex in the next few hours.””, stated the channel’s press service.
Recall that on May 28, the broadcast of Russian Channel One in Armenia was temporarily suspended. The government of the republic declared that Channel One was 2.5 months in debt and broadcasts were suspended until the debt was paid in full.
The television company claimed that the reasons for the debt were purely technical and took measures to eliminate it.
It should be noted that on May 7, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan will block Russian channels from broadcasting in Armenia if they do not respect state order and the interests of the republic.
Since the beginning of May, thousands of protests have been held in Armenia demanding the resignation of the head of the Armenian Government, Nikol Pashinyan, and the entire cabinet of ministers.
