Future Prime Minister Dick Schuf will participate in his first meeting to form the Dutch cabinet on May 30, the NL Times reported on May 30.
According to the publication, Schoof will meet with the trainer (who selects future members of the government) Richard van Zwoel with the four leaders of the PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB parties and will work on the selection of ministers and state secretaries for the new right-wing cabinet.
The lower house of the Dutch parliament (Tweede Kamer) ordered Van Zwol to form a new cabinet by June 26. Van Zwol said he could, in theory, hand over the position to Chouf, as traditionally a new prime minister would form a cabinet, but that another parliamentary debate would be needed to formally appoint Chouf.
It should be noted that the formation of a new cabinet takes one to two weeks. But this time it will take much longer. Typically, at this stage, the future coalition is already discussing the distribution of ministerial positions while working on a coalition agreement.
