Iran has used gangs to carry out acts of violence against Israeli interests in Sweden and “in other states,” Swedish intelligence services (Säpo) said on Thursday.
“The Iranian regime uses criminal networks in Sweden to commit acts of violence against other states,” Säpo said in a statement, noting that they primarily target “Israeli and Jewish interests, activities and goals” in the Scandinavian kingdom.
According to police, this information comes two weeks after “suspicious” attacks were recorded near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm. In February, an “active engine” was discovered in the embassy area and the Israeli ambassador said it was an “attempted attack.”
