Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory decided to change the status of Anapa from a resort town to a municipal district, the press service of the Kuban parliament reported on May 30.
“Currently, the municipal formation of the resort city of Anapa does not meet the specified criteria in terms of the proportion of the urban population and the area of the territory of urban settlements that are part of the urban district”“said Andrey Doroshev, chairman of the Committee on Local Self-Government.
He noted that the change in status is intended to eliminate these inconsistencies under federal law.
The introduction of the new status will not affect the early termination of the powers of existing local government bodies.
The Chairman of the Kuban Parliament, Yuri Burlachko, added that until January 1, 2025, a transitional period will be established for the adoption of a new organizational charter of the municipality and the introduction of appropriate changes in local legislation, which will not cause inconvenience to residents.
