The world event in the field of defense and security (Coges) or Eurosatory 2024 will be held in Paris without the participation of Israeli gunsmiths, writes the French magazine Valeurs actuelles on May 31.
The largest international exhibition dedicated to ground and air defense is held every two years in the Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis, at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center. This time its opening is scheduled for June 17. More than 2 thousand different companies and firms submitted applications to participate in it. However, it is already known for certain that there will be no representative of Israel among them. His application was cancelled.
“According to the decision of the French government, there will be no stands for the Israeli defense industry at the Eurosatory 2024 exhibition.”said the event organizer, Coges, without further clarification.
Israel’s defense industry was previously expected to be represented by 74 companies. Among them, about 10, as noted by the president of the event, Charles Baudouin, were directly involved in weapons production. Neither Coges nor the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, under whose auspices the exhibition is organized, specified the reasons for this decision.
Let us remember that on the night of May 27, the Israeli army carried out a deadly attack against a refugee camp in Rafah (Gaza Strip), located on the border with Egypt. This caused international outrage. In France itself, there were numerous demonstrations against Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.
