Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas found it difficult to indicate the timing of the resumption of 24-hour operation at the Narva border crossing, writes Narvskaya Gazeta on May 30.
“We have a very difficult situation in the state budget. And we had to think about how to use some of the border personnel in other places. It is still impossible to say when the 24-hour border checkpoint will operate again. “This is definitely not going to happen in the near future.”Callas said.
The head of the Estonian government once again called not to travel to Russia, scared by the lack of confidence in the safety of travelers. He also claimed that they decided to close the checkpoint at night to save money.
We remind you that the Narva-1 border crossing will be closed at night from May 1 from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Estonian authorities are also discussing the possibility of moving the two remaining checkpoints on the border with the Pskov region to a similar schedule.
