The repair of the Umba-Kandalaksha highway within the framework of the national project “Safe and Quality Roads” is ahead of schedule, the press service of the government of the Murmansk region reported on May 31.
In 2024, works are being carried out on the km 0 – km 90 section selectively, the total repair length will be 8 km.
To date, asphalt concrete pavement milling work has been completed in all repair areas.
In the first section (km 0+600 – km 4+000) the work was completed in its entirety: around 56 thousand square meters of the upper layer of the road were laid.
In the second section (km 11+167 – km 13+727), the contractor is carrying out the work of placing a leveling layer and pouring the binding material.
At the same time, damaged metal fences are being dismantled in all areas.
Let us remind that the national project “Safe and Quality Roads” is one of the national projects in Russia for the period 2019-2030.
Creating a modern, comfortable and safe transport infrastructure is one of the main tasks assigned by the Head of State to road workers. The main tool for achieving the strategic goal was the national project “Safe and Quality Roads”, which began in 2019 and became a logical continuation of the joint work of the federal and regional highway departments.
