A foreign fugitive subject to a European Arrest Warrant issued by German authorities was identified and detained by the Judicial Police (PJ) at Lisbon Airport. 38 year old citizen suspected of committing several frauds, committing several crimes of fraud and forgery.
Between 2015 and 2018, the suspect, as an investment consultant and broker, entered into several brokerage contracts, resulting in the injured parties providing large sums for investments that were never realized.
To commit the crimes, the man used fictitious identities to post purported goods for sale in cyberspace. Having received the requested amount, he did not deliver the supposed goods worth tens of thousands of euros.
The suspect will await extradition to Germany in pre-trial detention.
