A man experienced moments of terror after being kidnapped and robbed by hooded men in Oware on Tuesday morning. Around midnight, the robbers approached the victim in Esmoriz as he was driving to work.
The suspects drove their car across the road in front of the victim’s car to force it to stop. The kidnappers put a firearm to his head and forced him to withdraw 400 euros from an ATM located in Furaduro.
The victim was found by a fisherman in panic and disorientation, with signs of attack and hypothermia, in a forested area near the mouth of Aveiro, between Torreira, in Murtos, and São Jacinto, also in Aveiro. The alarm was raised around 7:00 a.m. by Murtosa firefighters.
The victim was abandoned approximately 40 kilometers from the abduction site. Murtosa’s GNR has claimed responsibility for the incident, but the investigation is to be handed over to the Judicial Police of Aveiro.
