Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez insisted on Tuesday he was calm about the woman’s trial, saying it was a “gross set-up” and said it was strange that the case had developed in the middle of an election campaign.
“We are both absolutely calm. There is nothing behind this accusation. Just a crude frame-up promoted by the far-right associations that filed the complaint,” Pedro Sánchez wrote in a “letter to citizens” published on the social network X.
The wife of the Spanish Prime Minister, Begoña Gomez, was today called to testify in court “as an investigator” in a case of possible influence peddling, according to a decision by the judge overseeing the case cited by several media outlets.
