The average retail price of gasoline at gas stations in Russia increased during the week from May 27 to June 3 by 0.3% (14 kopecks, equivalent to 55.37 rubles per liter), the liter of diesel fuel increased by price 0.2% (10 kopeks). kopecks, the price of which increased to 65.43 rubles/l on June 5, according to Rosstat data.
As follows from Rosstat information, over the previous week, from May 10 to May 27, the average price of gasoline increased by 0.1% – 6 kopecks, to 55.23 rubles per liter. Over the same period, the price of diesel fuel increased by 0.08% – 5 kopecks, up to 65.33 rubles per liter.
If we consider the prices of individual brands of gasoline, then during the week from May 27 to June 3, AI-92 gasoline became on average 0.27% more expensive – 51.13 rubles per liter; AI-95 gasoline rose in price by an average of 0.23%, to 55.98 rubles per liter; and AI-98 gasoline increased in price by 0.26%, to 69.96 rubles per liter.
At the same time, the country’s overall inflation during this period amounted to 0.17%.
Rosstat noted that changes in gasoline prices were recorded in 70 regions of the country. Its price increased the most in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug – by 1%. At the same time, in the Republic of Tuva and Sevastopol, on the contrary, prices decreased: -0.3% and -0.1%, respectively.
In the Russian capitals of Moscow and St. Petersburg, gasoline prices increased by 0.4% during the analyzed period.
It should be noted that the Russian government announced on May 20 that it was temporarily suspending the ban on gasoline exports until June 30. However, from July 1 to August 31, the export ban will come into effect again.
At the same time, the Ministry of Energy reported that the domestic market is fully supplied with gasoline. According to department data, at the end of May its reserves amounted to about 2.1 million tons and diesel fuel reserves to 4 million tons.
