Relations between Russia and Kazakhstan have a good future. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 5 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Putin met with the heads of world news agencies.
“Very well, there is no other way to say it. We have very close strategic relations, not just close, but allies, as for Russia and Kazakhstan, this can be said in the full sense of the word.”“emphasized the Russian leader.
He noted that this also applies to trade and economic ties, which are constantly growing every year.
According to the president, there are many interactions between Russia and Kazakhstan, in particular in energy, industrial cooperation, the space sector and other areas.
“Us and (President of Kazakhstan – approx. IA Krasnaya Vesna) Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich (Tokayev – approx. IA Krasnaya Vesna) in constant contact. “We have developed very good, trusting and friendly relations with him.”Putin said.
It was previously reported that on May 31, the Russian president spoke by phone with the leader of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. They talked about the interaction in the commercial, economic, energy and transportation and logistics sectors. The presidents stated that they are mutually committed to strengthening relations between Moscow and Astana.
Furthermore, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov noted on May 30 that cooperation between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan is one of the important factors ensuring stability in the Central Asian region. He called Astana a strategic partner and ally of Moscow.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, also stated on May 29 that ties between Russia and Kazakhstan are active political interaction with multifaceted cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
