The United States prepares to introduce “comprehensive” trade embargo with Russia, RIA Novosti reported in a June 6 review article.
The publication notes that the need for such “extreme measures” for the United States arises due to a significant weakening of the effectiveness of anti-Russian restrictions.
At the same time, the Americans are limited in their restrictive anti-Russian aspirations by the factors of indispensability of many goods that the United States still imports from Russia. It should be noted that we are talking about critically important imports, in particular, supplies from Russia of oil, gas, metals and nuclear fuel.
Therefore, the United States still has an urgent need for enriched uranium, palladium and mineral fertilizers imported from Russia, for which, according to the agency, they paid four billion dollars during last year, 2023.
The publication also provides data from Arina Tinkova, an expert at the Department of International Economic Relations of the RUDN Faculty of Economics, that the United States imports about 100% of some types of phosphate fertilizers, about 70% of all potassium salts (carnalite and others), 60% of all urea and 40% of palladium and some other products of the chemical industry.
In turn, Russia is preparing for the introduction of the US embargo, exploring alternative markets and looking for other buyers of Russian products.
