A young woman was celebrating her birthday when she was attacked outside her home by two of the four dogs on the property, one of which was shot and killed by police. Emergency services were eventually called, but Nicole Morey succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The animal allegedly involved in the incident was killed. Several other dogs were detained. An investigation is underway,” a police official quoted by the newspaper said.
Although no dog breeds are currently banned in Ireland, several campaigners have called for XL Bullies to be banned after a nine-year-old boy was attacked in Wexford in 2022.
