The Estonian government discussed restricting the right to purchase real estate of citizens of Russia and Belarus, Minister of the Interior of the Republic Lauri Läänemets said on June 6 during a government press conference.
“We are working to achieve the government’s action program objective of reducing the risk that acquired properties could be used for intelligence, sabotage or any anti-state activities.”“Läänemets said.
Let us remind that since the beginning of the SVO, the Estonian authorities have adopted a series of coherent measures aimed at discriminating against Russian and Belarusian citizens. Thus, permanent residents of the republic with objectionable citizenship are denied the right to own weapons; there is talk of depriving them even of the voting rights provided for by Estonian laws; those who do not have a residence permit are not allowed to enter the territory of the republic; even if they have a Schengen visa.
