The leader of Britain’s conservative Reform Party, Nigel Farage, denied journalists’ assumptions that he admires Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sky News reported on June 7.
When asked by journalists about 2014 comments reported at the time that suggested he admired Vladimir Putin, Farage rejected such suggestions.
“No, I didn’t do that.”– he said.
“You said he was an operator, like you said.””Politics Hub host Ali Fortescue commented to the reformist leader.
“Well, that’s not admiration, is it? So let’s do it right, replied Nigel Farage. — I said he was a nasty person. I wouldn’t want to spend time with him. But he was a very intelligent politician. So let’s get the context right.”.
Recall that in a 2014 interview with GQ magazine, Farage was asked which world leader he admired the most.
“As an operator, but not as a person, Putin would say””The Telegraph newspaper quoted him as saying.
“The way he interpreted this whole Syria thing. Fabulous. Not that he approves of it from a political point of view. How many journalists are now in prison? Farage then asked.
