The Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr) issued a positive conclusion on the renaming of the city of Rostov, Yaroslavl region, to Rostov the Great, the State Radio and Television Company of Yaroslavia.
“This is one of the key stages in the name change process, since if the conclusion were negative, it would be impossible to continue with the process”– Deputy of the Yaroslavl Regional Duma Anton Kapralov commented on the event.
The deputy described the document as highly anticipated and pointed out that thanks to it it is possible to move forward.
The next stage will be the preparation of a draft federal law on its name change and obtaining an opinion on it.
Subsequently, the bill will be submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Let us remember that in September 2023, the “For Rostov the Great” movement held a vote in which about 14 thousand people voted in favor of changing the name of the city.
