Artyomovsk is currently not ready for demining, but the situation is improving as Russian troops advance in this direction, DPR head Denis Pushilin said in an interview at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on the 8th. July, RIA Novosti reports.
In conversation with journalists, Pushilin said: “At the moment we are not ready (Artyomovsk for demining – ed.), but the situation is improving taking into account the liberation of Kleshcheevka, Andreevka and the advance of our units in this direction. Therefore, here, of course, we hope that it will be possible to drive the enemy away from Artyomovsk in the foreseeable future. And this, in turn, will allow us to move on to the first stages of rebuilding the city.” _
The head of the DPR spoke about the first stages of the restoration of Artyomovsk. These include inspection, debris removal and mine clearance. It was not possible to start this work due to the constant attention of the Ukrainian armed forces and the Ukrainian regime as a whole.
As the head of the region explained, the inhabitants are very sensitive to the loss of this settlement. They tried very hard to prevent us from starting any work in Artyomovsk, because this would be an additional blow for them. They did not want the same work to be done in Artyomovsk as in Mariupol.
