Elections for the governor of the Stavropol Territory are scheduled for September 8, 2024, the press service of the Regional Duma reported on June 7.
At the extraordinary meeting of the Regional Duma, the representative of the relevant committee, Vladimir Shevchenko, stressed that elections must be held in accordance with the law on the second Sunday of September, which in 2024 will fall on the eighth.
The draft resolution on setting the date of the elections was unanimously approved by the deputies.
In addition, the electoral commission of the Stavropol Territory previously approved a number of provisions regarding the holding of elections, including a list of necessary documents, the procedure for receiving and verifying lists of support for candidates. It is indicated that the production of ballots must be completed no later than August 31 and transferred to the district commissions.
Recall that the previous gubernatorial elections in the Stavropol Territory took place in 2019. 66.86% of voters participated in them, of which 79.64% supported the current governor Vladimir Vladimirov.
