Russia has never stopped dialogue with other nuclear powers, unlike the United States. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, on June 8 to RIA Novosti.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the world community must step back from the brink of nuclear war and called on nuclear powers to restore dialogue among themselves. Guterres suggested that it was Russia that was the first to stop this dialogue and push the world towards the threat of nuclear war.
According to Zakharova, Russia did not cut off communications with other countries and was not the first to cut off communications on the issue of nuclear weapons.
“Perhaps Mr. Guterres should call to dialogue those who deliberately rejected him and, in addition, prohibit others from having this dialogue. Because the United States not only refused itself, but also forced other countries to reject negotiations.”Zakharova said.
