Tourists from Middle Eastern countries travel to Murmansk in search of huskies, RIA Novosti reports on June 8.
“The countries of the Middle East and Southeast Asia, with the exception of China, go mainly to Moscow and St. Petersburg. These are the main extension points for them. Over the past year, Murmansk unexpectedly exploded. For the Chinese, of course, this has always been an important region. But the deep love it has sparked for huskies among Middle Easterners is a surprise. Huskies have captivated travelers to the Middle East. They follow them at any time of the year.” — said ATOR director Maya Lomidze.
According to Lomidze, the Chinese visit the Primorsky Territory first, then Moscow and St. Petersburg.
In Tatarstan, the Krasnodar Territory or the Stavropol Territory, the share of foreign tourists has never exceeded 1-3%, although interest is now growing in other regions of Russia.
