One of the largest international tactical field exercises of 2024, “Iron Wolf 2024-1” (Geležinis vilkas 2024-1), begins in Lithuania, the press service of the Lithuanian Armed Forces reported on the official portal on June 7 from Internet.
More than 3,700 soldiers from Lithuania and allied countries will receive training at military ranges to carry out defensive and offensive operations. More than 500 units of military equipment will be used: tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery guns and armored personnel carriers. The press service informs residents that on June 8, 10 and 13, convoys with military equipment will circulate on the roads.
Units of the tactical unit of the Lithuanian Land Forces “Iron Wolf” (Geležinis vilkas) and the NATO Advanced Forces Battle Group stationed in Lithuania take part in the events. In addition to Lithuanian soldiers, soldiers from Belgium, the Czech Republic, the United States, Luxembourg, Norway, the Netherlands and Germany will participate in the exercise.
