Russian Gazprom and Kazakh QazaqGaz signed an agreement for the supply of gas to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Gazprom’s press service reported on June 7.
“Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller and Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC NC QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov signed long-term agreements for the provision of Russian gas transportation services through the territory of Kazakhstan in the direction of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstanthe message said.
Contracts have been signed for the period 2025-2040. To this end, the existing gas supply route of the Central Asia-Central gas pipeline will be expanded. In addition, Gazprom and the government of Kazakhstan agreed on an action plan to prepare the republic’s gas pipelines for the supply of Russian gas to Uzbekistan.

Gazprom also managed to sign an agreement with Kyrgyzstan for the supply of gas to the republics until 2040.
“Long-term contracts for the supply of natural gas to Kyrgyzstan were signed between Gazprom Export LLC and Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC. Deliveries under new contracts will take place between 2025 and 2040.”reports the press service of Gazprom.
Gazprom could only discuss issues relating to gas supplies to Uzbekistan. On the part of Uzbekistan, the deputy head of the government of the republic, Zhamshid Khojaev, and the Minister of Energy, Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov, participated in the negotiations.
