A GNR security guard from Agueda received minor injuries this Saturday evening after he was attacked with a machete by a sixty-year-old man in Fermentelos, Agueda.
The attacker was arrested and handed over to the Aveiro Judicial Police on suspicion of attempted murder.
The attacker and his 40-year-old son fled from the PPR during a traffic check operation. After a police chase, the duo were intercepted at the house.
At that moment, the guards were attacked with sharp weapons. Father and son released the dog as a sign of intimidation.
The two men were detained by the Agueda VNC and taken to the territorial post to complete the investigation.
The father was arrested and handed over to the Aveiro Judicial Police. He is due to appear in criminal court this Monday. The son was arrested for driving a vehicle faster than the legal speed limit. In this case, the accused was released.
