The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) this Sunday welcomed predictions of a renewed democratic majority in the European Parliament and considered that there was “no need or justification” for reaching agreements with the far right.
“It is already clear that there will still be a democratic majority in the European Parliament (EP), so there is no need or justification for making deals behind closed doors with any part of the anti-worker far right,” the ETUC said. .
According to a statement cited by Spanish news agency EFE, the CES results also demonstrate that the European Union (EU) must address the economic and social insecurity that is fueling “growing anger and fear in society.”

“All democratic forces now have a responsibility to restore security and hope, create quality jobs and higher living standards, improve public services and a just transition in which workers have a voice and no one is left behind,” he added.
