PS (32.10%) won the European elections by less than 1% over AD (31.12%), according to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Socialists elected eight MEPs against seven from the right-wing coalition.
Arrives (9.80%) and IL (9.05%) make their debut in the European Parliament, each with two MEPs.
BE (4.24%) lost one of his two mandates. Former bloc coordinator Catarina Martins will not be joined by Jose Gusmão in the European Parliament.
CDU (4.12%) also now has only one MEP, former communist MP João Oliveiro, and Livre (3.74%) the election of Francisco Pauperio failed.
DNA (1.37%) surprised in the legislative elections in March and presented a famous candidate in the European elections – Joana Amaral Díaz – but the former BE MP is not going to Strasbourg.
Frying pan (1.21%) was unable to maintain the mandate received in the last European elections. In 2019, the party elected Francisco Guerreiro with about 5% of the vote.
