The Government is promising to fast-track the construction and rehabilitation of 3,000 homes to be given to the most vulnerable families as part of applications for the Housing Access Support Scheme, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Miguel Pinto Luz, and the Deputy Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, will begin on Tuesday the process of signing the terms of responsibility and acceptance with the municipalities.
The executive statement explained that projects worth a total of 328 million euros are at stake, which will allow for the “construction or rehabilitation of almost 3,000 houses” in more than 80 municipalities of the Alentejo, Algarve, Center and North regions.
The measure is included in the plan to achieve the goal agreed between Portugal and the European Commission of delivering 26,000 homes to families by June 2026.
