Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chin and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong agreed to cooperate on green and digital economy during talks, VnExpress reported on February 9.
Speaking with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at Isana Palace on the occasion of his official visit to Singapore, Pham Min Chin hailed the positive development of bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries.
The parties agreed to consider the possibility of modernizing the cooperation mechanism between the two countries in the context of the new situation. One of them is the establishment of the Vietnam-Singapore Green Economy and Digital Economy Association through the Memorandum of Understanding signed today.
Accordingly, Vietnam and Singapore will promote the exchange of digital transformation management experiences, initiatives and platforms in three areas, including digital government, digital economy and digital society.
The Singapore side will support Vietnam in building a digital platform and promoting digital transformation in areas such as population management, finance and banking, land resources and e-commerce.
In terms of a green economy, Singapore will support Vietnam in its transition to energy and zero emissions by 2050.
