Brazil’s Federal Police have confirmed the extradition of a Brazilian national who was arrested in Portugal and considered a fugitive.
In a statement released Tuesday evening, Brazilian police stressed that the fugitive, accused of drug trafficking, was escorted on a commercial flight from Lisbon and dropped off at Confins International Airport in Minas Gerais.
“The Center for International Cooperation of the Federal Police of Minas Gerais published Red Diffusion, including the name of a person included in the international Interpol detainee list in August 2023 in connection with an arrest warrant issued by the Medina District Court,” Brazilian media reported. authorities.

Brazilian authorities did not say how he escaped to Portugal or under what circumstances he was captured in the country, but stressed that “the exchange of information between the Brazilian Federal Police and the Portuguese Police made it possible to find and arrest the fugitive on Lusitano soil in February 2024.”
