The NHS chief executive today adjusted the number of cancer patients awaiting surgery beyond the Government’s maximum guaranteed response time, clarifying that there are around 2,300 and no more than nine thousand.
Unveiling the Health Emergency Plan at the end of May, the government said there were 9,374 cancer patients on the waiting list for surgery beyond the Maximum Response Time Guaranteed (TMRG). Surgery at the end of April.
Outside the TMRG, the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service (DE-SNS) reported that 2,645 cancer patients were expected at the same time, which is 28.20% of the figure indicated by the government and recorded in the Health Emergency Plan.
