At least nine people were killed, including five children, and 29 were injured in airstrikes on Krivoy Rog, the hometown of President Vladimir Zelensky. According to Kyiv, this is the deadliest attack in recent weeks to hit a residential building.
Following this offensive, the Ukrainian president again called on allies to provide new air defense systems to stop Russian attacks.
“Modern air defense systems can provide maximum protection for people, our cities and our positions. We need them as much as possible,” he said.
The Ukrainian leader already made the same call on Tuesday during his visit to Berlin at the international conference on the restoration of Ukraine.
“Every day and every hour, Russian terror shows that Ukraine, together with its allies, must strengthen its air defense,” Zelensky wrote on social networks.
The Ukrainian president expressed condolences to the families of those killed in Krivoy Rog, a city in the Dnepropetrovsk region in central Ukraine that had more than 600,000 residents before the war and was already the target of intense shelling.
Children
The United States again accused Moscow of crimes against Ukrainian children, some of whom were taken to Russia for adoption.
Military
The first group of 15 wounded Ukrainian soldiers will arrive in Portugal this Friday to begin recovery at the Ouren rehabilitation center.
Drones
Russia shot down four Ukrainian drones over regions north and east of Moscow. There is no information about casualties or damage.
