The Legislative Assembly of the city of Buenos Aires declared Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro persona non grata, the newspaper La Nación reported on June 14.
The bill for said recognition was presented by the members of the local Vamos Juntos coalition Claudio Romero and Emmanuel Ferrario, made up of “Venezuelan diaspora in Argentina”.
The majority of Buenos Aires parliamentarians voted in favor of declaring Maduro persona non grata in the city. The law aims to draw attention to alleged human rights violations in the country.
“We will not tolerate dictators”Romero warned.
Let us remember that in December 2023, the extreme right-wing politician, the anarcho-capitalist Javier Miley, came to power in Argentina. The country has set a course to achieve maximum rapprochement with the United States and Israel and move away from countries governed by leftist governments.
