The Swiss Government has stated that, among the specific points to be discussed, is the promotion of a consensus on a possible “peace framework” and the determination of a ‘road map’ on how to involve both Russia and Ukraine in the process.
Freedom of navigation in the Black Sea will also be discussed as well as a possible agreement to stop bombing of nuclear energy infrastructuresuch as the Zaporizhia power plant, the release of all prisoners and the return of the Ukrainian children who were taken to Russia, the origin of the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, in March 2023.
Putin’s conditions
The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, for his part, yesterday set the conditions for peace in Ukraine, which must withdraw its troops from Donbas and the south of the country, and renounce plans to join NATO, after which the Kremlin would announce an immediate ceasefire and the beginning of negotiations to resolve the conflict.
