Sevastopol is one of the three major Russian cities implementing the Smart City project. This was announced by the city’s governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev, on June 15 on his Telegram channel.
He said that at the fifth anniversary international forum on the development and digital transformation of cities “Smart City” in Perm, the results of the urban digitalization index “IQ of Cities” were summarized based on the results of 2023.
“Our city entered the top 3 in the Large Cities category”Razvozhaev emphasized.
He noted that the priority project “Smart City” in Sevastopol focuses primarily on people.
Razvozhaev explained that the project is implemented in the areas of electronic registration of academic progress for schools and other educational institutions in the city.
“74 educational organizations, more than 62 thousand students and more than 53 thousand parents use the functions of the Central Educational Service”– clarified the head of the city.
The project also includes a unified system for rapid response to incidents that pose a threat to human life and health. The agro-industrial complex has 770 users: representatives of government authorities, resource management and supply companies, as well as law enforcement agencies and special services.
Since the system began operating in 2021, more than 92 thousand applications have been accepted and processed. At the same time, the unified digital video surveillance platform “ARGUS” is integrated into the Safe City agro-industrial complex, thanks to which 118 crimes were solved in Sevastopol.
Additionally, the project includes the digitalization of the transport system and transport infrastructure: all public transport in Sevastopol is equipped with cashless payment systems, while more than 80% of transport is equipped with video surveillance systems for salons.
The project also did not overlook the tourism industry. We are talking about a comprehensive information system for tourists and residents of the region about the city’s places of interest. Today, the system has more than 400 recreational and tourist facilities and more than 90 routes.
