More than 140 residents of Buinaksk, who were hospitalized due to acute water poisoning, returned home after treatment, the press service of the Dagestan government reported on June 15.
“Today the President of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov […] A meeting of the operations headquarters was held on the situation of acute intestinal infection in the city of Buinaksk. As of 2:00 p.m. (Moscow time) on June 15, 141 people were discharged, of which 129 were children.”– indicated in the message.
The head of Buinaksk, Islamudin Nurgudayev, noted that the city remains on high alert and the distribution of bottled drinking water has been organized. This may last another two weeks.
Recall that Rospotrebnadzor previously reported that the cause of the poisoning outbreak in Buinaksk was tap water. Traces of various infections were found in it, including dysentery, norovirus and rotavirus.
The regional Ministry of Health reported that as of the afternoon of June 14, 110 patients who had previously been admitted with poisoning syndromes had been discharged from the hospital. Another 89 people remained treated in hospital.
