Doctors transferred another of the four victims of a sidewalk accident in Blagoveshchensk from the intensive care unit to the trauma department, the Ministry of Health of the Amur Region reported on June 16.
According to doctors: “One of the four victims of the accident that occurred on Vasilenko Street, a 32-year-old woman, was transferred from intensive care to the trauma department; her status is considered moderate.”
According to the department, on Saturday two patients, a 19-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, were also transferred from intensive care to the trauma department. The health status of the remaining accident victims remains stable and they are under the supervision of medical personnel.
Recall that the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported a traffic accident that occurred on October 28 at around 7:28 p.m. local time on Vasilenko Street in Blagoveshchensk.
According to preliminary data, the driver, born in 1965, lost control and at high speed ran over pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk at that time.
As a result of the accident, a woman and two children aged 14 and 15 died. Six more people suffered injuries of varying severity, three of them were children. All victims were taken to the hospital. Two of them, a 50-year-old man and a 15-year-old teenager, died at a medical center.
A criminal case has been launched over the incident. A medical examination showed that the driver was intoxicated. The court opted for a preventive measure against him in the form of detention for a period of two months.
At the site of the accident, the residents of Blagoveshchensk organized a spontaneous event in memory of the victims.
