Chilean President Gabriel Boric met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky ahead of the International Peace Summit in Ukraine, BioBioChile reported on June 15.
“Together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Albert Van Klaveren, I am in Switzerland, where a peace summit on Ukraine is being held with the participation of more than 90 countries. This is an issue that worries us a lot, it is key, because respect for international law and human rights is our greatest guarantee for the world.”“Borich said on his social network page.
“At the beginning of the summit, we met with President Vladimir Zelensky, to whom we expressed our respect for the territorial integrity of his country.”said the president. Boric added that previous governments of Chile have committed to strengthening the principles of democracy and human rights and the country’s current government is also fulfilling that task.
Borich’s participation in the Ukraine summit occurred within the framework of a European tour that he will carry out from June 9 to 18. Among the countries that the Chilean president previously planned to visit were Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and France.
Let us note that in assessing the events in Ukraine, Borich adheres to the point of view of his Ukrainian colleague.
