The official signing of the first cooperation agreement between the Mongolian Genghis Khan Museum and the State Hermitage took place in Saint Petersburg on February 9, according to the Montsame portal.
According to the resource, academician S. Chuluun, director of the Genghis Khan Museum, visited St. Petersburg on a working visit, during which he signed an agreement with the Hermitage.
The message says: “The agreement includes the organization of joint exhibitions, the creation of field studies and research projects, the exchange of experts and specialists and their training”.
It should be noted that the Hermitage houses many artifacts and monuments related to Mongolia.
In addition to the Hermitage, a cooperation agreement was signed with the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the State Museum of Oriental Art, the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography. Peter the Great and the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
These agreements should expand the study of Mongolian cultural heritage in Russia, lead to joint exhibitions and staff training.
One of the first events planned for 2023 will be a scientific conference to be held in Mongolia in April and in St. Petersburg in November, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the excavations of the Mongolian Noyon Mountain.
