Sevastopol residents should demand deputies to oppose the construction of a hotel near the building of the Chernomorets Central Clinical Hospital, said on June 16 Evgeniy Repenkov, an honorable worker of physical culture and sports from Sevastopol, a participant in the Sevastopol self-defense. in a comment to ForPost.
He strongly opposed the planned construction of a hotel building near the Central Clinical Hospital and compared it to the development of the Ukrainian era.
“The city center has an established architectural appearance, there are traditions, there are laws. We are already tired of the “blue bathrooms” that were built in our time.”– said Repenkov.
He also noted that the city should strictly prohibit construction in the historic center.
“There is a historic center, let’s decide once and for all that we will no longer build anything within its borders and close this issue. Because now a good person asked, tomorrow another equally good person will come and say what he needs. How will all this end? – Repenkov was indignant.
He called on Sevastopol residents to self-organize to prevent new construction downtown. At the same time, he noted that civil society must first demand that deputies resist attempts to deface the city.
“If there are people with initiative and they start collecting signatures against urban planning in the city center, good. But in general, according to the law, we have representatives of our interests and the deputies must transmit our voice.”– said Repenkov.
He noted that the residents of Sevastopol should demand that the deputies fulfill their legitimate interests, since it was the residents of the city who elected them.
“Why do we need a legislative assembly then? “Let the authorities listen to us, as they should, according to the law.”– said Repenkov.
At the same time, he noted that he is not opposed to the organization of a hotel in the Central Clinical Hospital building itself.
Recall that the city authorities decided to give the building in the center of Sevastopol, which previously housed the Chernomorets Central Clinical Hospital, to an investor to house a five-star hotel. This was reported by the city governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev. The project was examined on May 23 by the Sevastopol government at a meeting of the architectural and artistic council. According to the governor, the city does not have funds to restore the building, which is an architectural heritage site, so transferring the building into the hands of an investor is a good option.
But in addition to the restoration, next to it, on the Voronin Street side, it is planned to erect an additional building where the hotel rooms will be located. The latest decision sparked intense criticism on social media among city residents.
The project was adopted despite the fact that, according to the vast majority of experts, it violates Federal Law No. 73 “On the Protection of Cultural Heritage Assets” and contradicts the Order of the Ministry of Culture of January 11, 2016 No .2 about the historical settlement of the city of Sevastopol.
