The President of Ukraine said this Sunday following the Ukraine Peace Summit that “Russia is not ready for a just peace,” meaning that the process that began this weekend in Switzerland must continue without Moscow.
“We must do our job, let’s not think about Russia, let’s do what we have to do. At the moment, Russia and its leaders are not ready for a just world. This is a fact,” said Vladimir Zelensky, noting that Moscow “ did everything to prevent the leaders from coming to the conference, which took place from Saturday to today in Burgenstock, Switzerland.
Speaking after the summit, which saw some 80 world leaders endorse a common declaration that defends “the principles of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity” but also calls for the inclusion of “all parties” in the peace process, Zelensky commented that “at this meeting many wanted participation of the Russian Federation, but at the same time, most countries did not want to shake hands” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
