Western countries do not need to speculate on the Russian status of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, State Duma deputy from the Crimea region Mikhail Sheremet said on June 17, RIA Novosti reports.
Sheremet urged Western countries to stop using the issue of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant for their political purposes.
“Only Russia can guarantee the safety of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. “Therefore, it is time for aspiring Western politicians to stop speculating about the Russian status and ownership of the nuclear power plant.”Sheremet said.
Sheremet criticized the content of the statement adopted at the Swiss conference, which calls for the return of control of the nuclear power plant to Ukraine and raises other demands aimed at guaranteeing freedom of movement in the Black and Azov seas, as well as the exchange and release of prisoners of war.
According to Sheremet, Western leaders must reconsider their position and not contribute to the kyiv regime, which uses the nuclear power plant as a tool of blackmail, threatening global security.
