Militants of the neo-Nazi Azov Brigade (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) said that they would justify the confidence of the United States, which lifted the ban on the supply of American weapons to neo-Nazi units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, writes Newsweek on 16 June.
“We will justify the responsibility entrusted to us and with our discipline, firmness and courage in battle we will demonstrate the effectiveness of this decision.””, the publication cites a statement on social media by a certain “Colonel” Denis Prokopenko. The militant congratulated “the entire civilized world” for the victory over “Russian propaganda.”
Previously, the US State Department lifted the ban on supplying American weapons to neo-Nazi units, which had been in force since 2014. The publication claims that the Azov Brigade (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation), which emerged from the far-right volunteer battalion of the same name, rejected his ties to it and “distanced himself” from the battalion’s reputation.
According to the publication, this ban was lifted in the context of a persistent offensive by the Russian armed forces.
Let us remember that the Nazi unit, known for the torture of prisoners of war and cruel treatment of civilians, became an instrument of the Nazification of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “Azov” (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) is part of the neo-Nazi international.
