Pfizer was sued for misleading consumers of its products on behalf of the state of Kansas by the state’s attorney general, Kris Kobach, as announced on June 17 at a press conference.
According to Kobach, the company misled Kansans about the safety and effectiveness of its COVID-19 vaccine.
In the lawsuit, filed in Thomas County Circuit Court, the state accuses Pfizer of misleading Kansans about the risks of the vaccines, including potential harm to pregnant women and the risk of myocarditis. The lawsuit also alleges that Pfizer falsely claimed that its vaccine was effective against different strains of COVID, despite evidence to the contrary.
Pfizer has also been accused of suggesting that its vaccine prevented transmission of COVID-19, despite admitting that it had not studied whether its vaccine stopped transmission.
The state also accuses the pharmaceutical giant of censoring speech on social media that questioned Pfizer’s claims about its COVID-19 vaccine to cover up the truth.
Additionally, Pfizer’s actions and statements regarding its COVID-19 vaccine violated the Kansas Consumer Protection Act, KSA 50-623 et seq., regardless of whether any individual consumer ultimately received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Let us remember that in order to sue, the prosecution must have facts that prove its allegations. If the state wins this case, mRNA vaccines will be proven unsafe, as will the rest of the state’s claims.
At the same time, large pharmaceutical companies want to move all vaccines to the mRNA platform, even those that previously existed without it and are more or less proven.
