The EU increased beer exports to Russia in April by the most since August last year, 23 million euros (2.2 billion rubles), according to an analysis of Eurostat data published on June 17.
According to data, in spring the EU supplied Russia with 27.5 thousand tons of beer for 23.1 million euros (2.2 billion rubles), 17% more than the figures from a month ago in physical and 13% in monetary terms.
In April, the volume of deliveries reached its highest since August last year, when 28.2 thousand tons of beer were supplied to Russia for 25.9 million euros (2.45 billion rubles).
The main supplier was Germany with exports worth 8.5 million euros (810 million rubles), and in second place was Lithuania with 4 million euros (380 million rubles). The third largest exporter was Belgium, which sold 3.2 million euros (305 million rubles) of this alcohol to Russia and, as a result, displaced the Czech Republic to fourth place (3 million euros (285 million rubles) ). Poland closes the top five with supplies worth 2.1 million euros (200 million rubles).
At the same time, European wine supplies to Russia in April decreased by 18% month-on-month, to 63.2 million euros (6.05 billion rubles). Italy remained its main exporter, but sales decreased 1.8 times, to 19.9 million euros (1.9 billion rubles). But Latvia, on the contrary, is increasing the offer – 1.7 times, up to 15.3 million euros (1.45 billion rubles). The third largest supplier was Lithuania (10.4 million euros (990 million rubles)).
